A Piece of Diner History in the Heart of Downtown Concord

There’s a reason we’ve been serving East Bay families for so long. We stick to a tried-and-true method that has served us well since the beginning: fresh coffee, classic diner eats done right, and the kind of old-school hospitality that remembers your order before you sit down. 

We opened our doors in November of 1959, as a merger between the Sugar Plum Bakery and a Concord coffee shop. We quickly became a community gathering space, where locals would catch up over fluffy pancakes, savory biscuits and gravy, and our signature grilled hamburgers. 

Over the years, our decor hasn’t changed much. We’re still grating our hash browns by hand, and we never did quite get on board with the Matcha latte trend. But what you will find is multiple generations breaking bread at our tables. You can sit at our counters, peer into our kitchen, and watch the French toast and eggs dance on the griddle while the smell of applewood-smoked bacon wafts through the air. 

Our dining room hums with laughter, conversation, and the perpetual, “Would you like some more coffee,” because when you’re here, you’re family, and the coffee is unlimited for family. So whether you're in the mood for a hearty breakfast or delicious diner fare for lunch, we invite you to pull up a chair and make yourself at home.
